Subject [jira] [Commented] (DERBY-5432) Space in default installation directory makes tools (e.g. dblook) unrunnable
Date Tue, 27 Sep 2011 08:32:12 GMT

Knut Anders Hatlen commented on DERBY-5432:

Do you also see this problem with newer versions of Derby? In Derby 10.6 and newer the line
that fails for you is no longer in the script (changed in DERBY-3207).
> Space in default installation directory makes tools (e.g. dblook) unrunnable
> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: DERBY-5432
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-5432
> Project: Derby
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Tools
> Affects Versions:
> Environment: MacOS X Lion (10.7.1)
> Reporter: Timothy Miller
> Priority: Minor
> The default installation directory for Derby has a space in it. Here, it came out as
"javadb". There is a bug in (at least) the dblook script that cannot handle this
> $ ../javadb\ -d MinuteMan
> ../javadb line 26: /Users/millerti/javadb: No such file or directory
> This is on line 26 of the dblook script:
> . $DERBY_HOME/bin/derby_common.sh
> Where $DERBY_HOME is used, there needs to be quotation marks, like this:
> . "$DERBY_HOME/bin/derby_common.sh"
> If I add those, the tool starts up.
