Subject [jira] Commented: (DERBY-5047) Documentation links to java.sun.com should be updated
Date Tue, 01 Mar 2011 21:48:36 GMT

Kim Haase commented on DERBY-5047:

Fixing the java.sun.com links will involve changes to the following topics:

crefjdbc12657.dita: JDBC reference
rrefjta16677.dita: J2EE Compliance: Java Transaction API and javax.sql Interfaces
rrefjta18596.dita: javax.sql: JDBC Interfaces

cadminconfig86869.dita: Managing the Derby Network Server
tadminconfigsysteminformation.dita: Obtaining system information

rtoolsijpropref97949.dita: derby.ui.codeset property

cdevcsecure90988.dita: Signed jar files
cdevcsecure96815.dita: Requirements for Derby encryption
cdevresman19524.dita: Using Derby as a J2EE resource manager
cdevsetprop824983.dita: Verifying system properties
cdevstandardsxml.dita: XML data types and operators

I am not going to change the link in cdevspecialudt.dita (Programming user-defined types),
because the old URL is still current and the content is not available anywhere on the Oracle
site yet.

rrefjta16677.dita and cdevresman19524.dita contain some duplicated language that provides
an opportunity to update some old crufty Java EE and Java SE terminology.

> Project: Derby

> The Admin, Dev, Reference, and Tools manuals all contain links to java.sun.com URLs that
need to be updated to go to the appropriate Oracle URLs. I believe that most of these if not
all currently redirect to the equivalent Oracle page, but I haven't verified this. There appear
to be about 23 instances currently.
