Subject [jira] Updated: (DERBY-973) Restore fails in OnlineBackupTest1
Date Mon, 21 Feb 2011 07:02:38 GMT

]

Myrna van Lunteren updated DERBY-973:
-------------------------------------

    Component/s: Store
        Urgency: Normal
         Labels: derby_triage10_8 (was: )

I'm changing this from test issue to store, test, because it's not clear at this point if
it's a problem in the test, or store.
I went through a bunch of derbyall failure reports from the tinderbox, and found only two
occurrences:
- after revision 551728 (10.4.0.0 on 6/29/2007)
- after revision 882732 (10.6.0.0 on 11/21/2009 - which sparked DERBY-4453, marked as duplicate
to this)

I also went through all reports from nightly tests at IBM (not publicly available(anymore))
since April 2007 and this exact failure has not popped up in that period.

(I did see 1 failure in this test - on an odd platform - but it looks like a different issue,
judging from the diff the database apparently did not shut down properly...
But for reference that machine is running 10.5 builds on vmware with a modified linux kernel
to get around "time-travel" issues which would cause some date-time tests to fail, and generally
shows some odd failures we don't see often with the regular 10.5 linux machine. On 1/5/2011
(10.5.3.2 sync-ed to revision 1055745) with ibm142 this test failed with the following diff:

Unfortunately, derby.log and other files are gone now.)
