Hi everyone,

While running my personal tests (so far).. it seems like changing the 
mentioned columns to VARCHAR(32672) addresses the problems.

I'll run a few final tests tomorrow. If these work out as well, I'll 
propose a few simple simple patches and hopefully come up with some 
unit-tests... if I don't have to disclose a lot.

I'd really like to have the fixes in Derby 10.6.1.2, so I'll try hard to 
beat time.
