Guy Davis closed DERBY-4368.

    Resolution: Won't Fix

After reporting this feature request, I stumbled across Derby's CREATE FUNCTION feature which
let us easily create our own SOUNDEX function that just called an Apache Commons jar for the
implementation. Very nice!

Please consider this issue closed. Thanks.

> Support for the SOUNDEX() function supplied by Oracle and MySQL among others would be
great. Our application uses Oracle for large installs and Derby for more portable ones.
Derby has performed great in this capacity with only SOUNDEX being a sticking point. Would
love to see it added as a supported function.
