Subject [jira] Updated: (DERBY-4153) Document that starting with 10.5 network server will attempt to create the trace directory if it does not exist
Date Wed, 25 Nov 2009 01:46:39 GMT

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-4153?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
]

Bryan Pendleton updated DERBY-4153:
-----------------------------------

    Attachment: tadminadv804410.html
                radminconfigdb2jdrdatracedirectory.html
                docs.diff

Good catch, Dag. I looked at the other examples, as well as at Kathey's patch in DERBY-4128:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/attachment/12405017/derby-4128_kmarsden_diff.txt
and it's clear that the second slash should not be present.

Updated patch and HTML files are attached.

> Starting with 10.5, Network server will attempt to create the trace directory (and any
parent directories) if they do not exist. This will require that the derbynet.jar permit
verification of the existence of the named trace directory and all necessary parent directories.
 For each directory created, the policy will require
> permission java.io.FilePermission "<directory>", "read,write"
> and the trace directory will require
> permission java.io.FilePermission "<trace directory>${/}/-", "write"
