Aaron Digulla commented on DERBY-4074:

Okay guys, I've been able to work around most of my test cases but now, I've run into a case
where I have about 50 columns. Can someone tell me if this is planned for 10.5 or whether
it makes sense for me to try to implement this one?

> Allow UPDATE TABLE SET (col1,col2) = (SELECT a,b FROM ...) syntax
> -----------------------------------------------------------------
> Key: DERBY-4074
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-4074
> Project: Derby
> Issue Type: New Feature
> Reporter: Aaron Digulla
> Please extend the UPDATE statement to allow this syntax:
> UPDATE table SET (col1,col2) = (SELECT a,b FROM othertable)
> This is especially useful when I need to group in the SELECT.
