Subject [jira] Commented: (DERBY-3569) Incorrect encoding of derby_tests.policy file on Z/OS
Date Thu, 03 Apr 2008 19:09:24 GMT

Myrna van Lunteren commented on DERBY-3569:

The encoding of the derby_test.policy file appears to be no different from the encoding of
other files...Nor do I think it has changed from earlier releases. There might be something
wrong in how the file gets read.

It would be helpful if the following info could be added:
- exact derby build
- example of stack trace when the error occurs
- any tests that pass?
- encoding used (I think zseries recognizes chcp, my old notes say chcp -q gives you current
- also useful might be the value of java properties file.encoding, and sun.io.unicode.encoding,
or any other encoding/codepage properties set by default in the environment

> Incorrect encoding of derby_tests.policy file on Z/OS
> -----------------------------------------------------
> Key: DERBY-3569
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-3569
> Project: Derby
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Test
> Affects Versions:
> Reporter: Manjula Kutty
> Priority: Minor
> While running the tests on Z/OS most of the tests failed with invalid authentication.
I could run the tests by unjarring the derbyTesting.jar and then FTPying the derby_tests.policy
file in the ascii mode. and then rejarring again.
