Attached is a revision of the try1 patch (derby-3310_diff.txt) that adds some comments to
the changed method.  Since Army confirmed that this change the right thing to do, I would
like to commit this patch to get rid of this regression for 10.4.  I welcome comments on the
comments and the patch.

Ultimately with DERBY-3494 I would like to try to roll this method into NormalizeResultSetNode,
but for this fix I think it best not to combine it with code reorg.
