I agree, comments are definitely important for this change.
"I meant to add them before but forgot" :) Thanks for catching this!

Attached is a revised patch; the only change is improved comments
in FromList and PredicateList.

I'm intending to run a complete set of tests, verify that javadoc
builds cleanly, and then submit this patch. Continued feedback
is very welcome of course.
