Kathey, I am trying to see if I can rewrite my code using getOffset/setOffset rather than previous on CollationElementIterator. Assuming getOffset/setOffset work correctly with Sun JVM, we may be able to have a fix that works for Sun JVM as well. I am working on the changes right now and will post a patch if the changes seem to work fine.
