Subject [jira] Updated: (DERBY-3033) select query results in nullpointer exception in skipScan()
Date Wed, 12 Sep 2007 00:10:32 GMT

     [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-3033?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel
]

Kathey Marsden updated DERBY-3033:
----------------------------------

    Attachment: query_plan.new
                query_plan.old

A little more historical information on this issue.
1) Army suggested I try backing all the way back to revision 81858 before DERBY-805 and apply
the DERBY-1357 to make sure there was not a problem in DERBY-805 causing the issue. I did
that and found that the NPE still reproduced, so it looks like DERBY-805 had no effect.

2) I printed the plans before/after DERBY-1357.  query_plan.old is before 1357 (without the
NPE). query_plan.new is after DERBY-1357 with the NPE.

> The following error was repeatedly thrown when we tried to run a select query via JDBC.
Strangely, the exact same select query did not trigger any error when run from the command
line console. After we added an index, the error went away completely.
