Subject Re: SQLNonTransientConnectionExceptions and SESSION_SEVERITY exceptions that are not '08XXX' spec clarification
Date Tue, 18 Sep 2007 00:02:06 GMT

The XS and XB errors come from the old scheme where severity was totally
expected to be handled by the xxxxx.SEVERITY system. On quick scan they
are mostly "not expected to happen" errors marked session level. Can we
just wrap any session level severity error into an 08 number (maybe
chain is the right term - don't want to lose the original error), and
then make it a SQLNonTransientConnectionException.

I assume there is one place in the code as these errors have to already
be wrapped as they start as StandardExceptions internally and have to be
wrapped before they can be sent out over jdbc.
