Subject [jira] Commented: (DERBY-64) Create a table with a query
Date Fri, 20 Oct 2006 15:20:40 GMT
    [ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-64?page=comments#action_12443861 ]

Bryan Pendleton commented on DERBY-64:
--------------------------------------

Derby does support
   INSERT INTO t SELECT ... FROM other_t;
For example you can do:
  INSERT INTO t1 (a, b) SELECT x, y from t2 where x > 17;

Is this an acceptable solution to your problem?

> I suggest to implement a SQL statement to create and fill a table with a query, without
having to write the columns definition.
> e.g.:
>  CREATE TABLE new_table AS SELECT ...;
> or:
>  SELECT ... INTO new_table FROM ...;
