Part of that is a "myth" as well, the last person to look at a patch
needs to be a committer in order to commit it, no requirement to be an
expert in that area. The committer just has to make a judgement as to if
the patch should be committed, they can rely on other reviewers'
comments and/or their own thoughts to do that.
