Subject [jira] Closed: (DERBY-1443) DataTypeDescriptor.isBinaryType() return false for Types.BLOB
Date Sat, 29 Jul 2006 04:07:14 GMT
     [ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-1443?page=all ]

Daniel John Debrunner closed DERBY-1443.

    Resolution: Invalid

Knut Anders points out this method is returning the correct value.
Derby also supports a type mapping to JDBC type VARBINARY, ie. VARCHAR FOR BIT DATA

A new bug should be entered for any specific external behaviour that is broken.

> DataTypeDescriptor.isBinaryType() return false for Types.BLOB.
> Surely BLOB is a binary type and so method should return true?
