Subject [jira] Commented: (DERBY-1443) DataTypeDescriptor.isBinaryType() return false for Types.BLOB
Date Thu, 20 Jul 2006 10:00:14 GMT

Steve Taylor commented on DERBY-1443:

thanks for looking into it. It's not really causing me any problems - I was just curious
as to why I couldn't get JBoss Messaging working with Derby and that appeared to be why.
I noticed that the configs for the other DBs use VARBINARY but there is no similar alternative
in Derby that is compatible with byte[] so that could be the real reason.

> DataTypeDescriptor.isBinaryType() return false for Types.BLOB.
> Surely BLOB is a binary type and so method should return true?
