Subject RE: [jira] Commented: (DERBY-1486) ERROR 40XD0 - When exracting Blob from a database
Date Fri, 07 Jul 2006 22:56:25 GMT
I just added close and flush to the objStream, re-ran my code and it does
not make a difference - I think the reason it worked without them is because
the streams are memory and not file based.

Are you able to reproduce the problem?

David

Daniel John Debrunner commented on DERBY-1486:
----------------------------------------------

In your write code you have:

    ByteArrayOutputStream byteStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    ObjectOutputStream objStream = new ObjectOutputStream(byteStream);
    objStream.writeObject(array); // Convert object to byte stream

    byte[] bytes = byteStream.toByteArray();

Don't you have to close(and flush?) the objStream before you can convert
the byteStream to an array of bytes?

> The Exception DOES NOT occur if the size of the Blob is reduced - for
example calling:
>       addRows(con, 1000, 1);
> This is a show stopper.
