Hi Andrew, thanks for looking at this.

Maybe I'm confused, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.

I downloaded "Derby alpha (June 6, 2006 / SVN 412239)"
from http://db.apache.org/derby/binaries/db-derby-snapshot-
as described on http://db.apache.org/derby/derby_downloads.html#Snapshot+Jars

In that zip file, I do not see any demo/programs directory. Nor do I see a
demo/databases directory.

Under "demo", I see only: nserverdemo, simple, and toursdb.

Am I misunderstanding your comment? When you access a 10.2 distribution are
you getting a zip file which has a demo/programs directory?
