Subject [jira] Commented: (DERBY-1450) jdbcapi/parameterMetaDataJdbc30.java fails with 10.1 client and 10.2 server
Date Mon, 26 Jun 2006 12:28:30 GMT

Knut Anders Hatlen commented on DERBY-1450:
-------------------------------------------

This is caused by a test case for DERBY-44 which is supposed to test
  a) that Derby understands the LIKE/ESCAPE syntax
  b) that an empty escape string causes SQLException with SQL state 22019, not IndexOutOfBoundsException

However, since the test only executes the statement and doesn't fetch data, b is never triggered
in 10.1 (neither with the embedded driver nor with the client driver). In 10.2, the client
driver pre-fetches data (DERBY-822) hence b is triggered. In the 10.2 code line, the test
is also updated so that b is triggered regardless of pre-fetching (the exception is also raised
by the embedded driver).
