Subject [jira] Updated: (DERBY-883) Date functions are 'syntax error' in group by clause
Date Sat, 06 May 2006 00:12:28 GMT

Daniel John Debrunner updated DERBY-883:

    type: New Feature (was: Bug)

Seems like supporting expressions in the GROUP BY clause is similar to the improvement made
to support expressions in the ORDER BY clause that Tomohito did a while ago.

Can we use the knowledge/implementation details from the ORDER BY work to do the GROUP BY

> This select would return an error syntax on finding "(" after month if group by clause:
> select idissue, month(creation), year(creation), count(distinct idissue)
> where
> ....
> group by idissue, month(creation), year(creation)
