Subject [jira] Updated: (DERBY-1300) Derby Server and Administration Guide - Managing the Derby Network Server remotely by using the servlet interface should clarify that Network Server is shutdown when Application Server is shutdown
Date Fri, 26 May 2006 16:52:30 GMT

Kathey Marsden updated DERBY-1300:
----------------------------------

Summary: Derby Server and Administration Guide - Managing the Derby Network Server remotely
by using the servlet interface should clarify that Network Server is shutdown when Application
Server is shutdown (was: Derby Server and Administration Guide - Managing the Derby Network
Server remotely by using the servlet interface (II))

Changed the summary on this issue so the release notes would show what was changed. I also
looked at the html version of the patch which says:

"When the Network Server is started by the servlet interface, shutting down the Application
Server also shuts the Network Server down, once both run in the same JVM."

Should "once" be "since"?

> I think it would be good to add this sentence to the note already existent in this page:
> When the Network Server is started by the servlet interface, shutting down the Application
Server also shuts the Network Server down, once both run in the same JVM.
> It occurred with Tomcat and took me by surprise. It is natural, but I wasn't expecting
it to happen.
> Also "Web server" was changed to "Application Server" for the servlet.
