Have you tried running it with the security manager enabled? It
provides the following puzzling result:

Testing for presence of all Derby-related libraries; typically, only
some are needed.
For a list of possible arguments, type java
org.apache.derby.tools.sysinfo -cp args
FOUND IN CLASS PATH:

   Derby embedded engine library (derby.jar)
   Unable to access Protection Domain or Code Source for class interface org.apa
che.derby.database.Database: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission getProte
ctionDomain)

SUCCESS: All Derby related classes found in class path.

SUCCESS? O RLY? :-)

Not sure what's going on there, but it isn't necessarily something
that needs to be addressed by this patch.
