Correct, it could be any value.

Could be, or could be a higher number. The sequence could go somthing
like (as an example)

10.1.2.0 - first 10.1.2 *sanpshot*
10.1.2.1 - second 10.1.2 *snapshot*
10.1.2.2 - rc1
10.1.2.3 - rc2
10.1.2.4 - rc3 and official release
