Subject [jira] Commented: (DERBY-371) Document known client/embedded differences for the Version 10.1 release
Date Sun, 19 Jun 2005 13:04:17 GMT

Kathey Marsden commented on DERBY-371:
--------------------------------------

I wanted to bring up the general issue of capitalization of the name of the network client
driver. Dan had mentioned in reviewing the functional spec that like the embedded driver
maybe the network client driver should start with lower case. I have not yet reviewed the
other doc so don't know how it is cased elsewhere. Network Server used to be a separate product
so traditionally had a proper name, but probably doesn't make sense for the network client
driver.

Title
replace
Differences between the embedded client and the Network Client
with
Differences between the embedded driver and the network client driver

How will the DERBY-371 differences be connected to this section?

> The known differences between the Client and embedded driver listed in the seciton
> Comparision and/or differences with the Derby Embedded Driver
> in the Client spec at:
> Should be documented for the 10.1 release.
> It should also be noted that there may be additional differences that are not documented
and in the future the client driver may be changed to match embedded. For example SQLStates
for exceptions generated from the client may be changed to match embedded.
