Thanks for your review David!  I just submitted a new
patch to Derby-296 with your suggested additions
incorporated.  Your java file for converting the vti
output to DITA will be extremely useful.  I think we
need to come up with some way of getting the labels
for the parameters re-generated each time as well
(instead of placeholders like {0}), along with any
message details.  Myrna's suggestion might be the way
to do it (a separate file that stores all that extra
data and pulls it into the generated file each time). 
I think since it's probably too late for 10.1 (unless
you think we can get that infrastructure working for
10.1 soon enough??), you should create a separate JIRA
entry for that work for fix in 10.2, and it's
something that will vastly improve the accuracy of
this part of the documentation.  You should create the
new JIRA entry and attach the java file (and your
sample output DITA file) to that new issue so we dont
lose it.

So if that works for you, for now is my current patch
satisfactory for a 10.1 solution?
