Subject [jira] Updated: (DERBY-261) Document Network Client in Derby docs
Date Fri, 06 May 2005 21:03:10 GMT

Jeff Levitt updated DERBY-261:

    Attachment: netclientchanges.diff

My first draft at a patch for the documentation to include the Derby Network Client is attached.
A lot of files were touched for this one, as you can see. So in order to make things easier
to review, I created html output with my changes in them, and put them up on a personal server.

So you can access all 6 books at:

PDF's are also located in the directories for each manual.

To make things even easier, I have assembled a few links below that represent the largest
changes. They are all in the Server/Admin guide, and include several new dita files created
to describe the Network Client, tracing, and security, as well as how to use the IBM Client
if users wish to continue to use that.

Additional pages for review:

This list is not exhaustive. Please see the patch for the numerous minor changes throughout
the docs.

I'm not sure how to include new dita files. Does anyone know? They aren't included in the
patch because they aren't already in svn. So while you can view them in my output above,
they arent in the patch.

> Goals:
> - replace syntax, examples, and discussion about the IBM DB2 JDBC Client with corresponding
information on the Derby Network Client
> - document Derby Network Client tracing and security
> - To be decided: document the alternate use of the IBM DB2 JDBC Client by showing the
differences in syntax between the two drivers in a new topic in the Server and Administration
