I'd like to drop my ij/retrieveMessages patch (see below). DerbyClient
would be our main network driver (assuming the contribution gets
accepted), and for DerbyClient we don't have to worry about this.
(DerbyClient does have a message property (retrieveMessageText) but it
is set to true by default). I'd especially like to drop the PATCH
since it simply cannot be made to work right within the ij code...(the
Universal Driver does not allow the property to be set more than
once).

Can someone update this to say I dropped that patch forever?
