OK, here's our running list of Apache software that Derby uses (thanks 
for the additions, Jeff and Andrew):

Derby code:
    Jakarta ORO
    Jakarta servelet api
    Geronimo JTA spec jar

Doc generation:

Derby Web Site (http://incubator.apache.org/derby):

Embedded Tutorial 
    Jakarta Regexp
    Jakarta Math

Anything else?
