Sorry; somehow I was gone during the e-mail you sent with the new 
information, and I must have read it while on vacation then forgot.
I did a build with the gump xerces and with the latest release xerces 
with your modified file I grabbed at the url you mentioned (email).  
Also your diff looks good, and everything with the correct parser etc 
now work like your files.

I like your diff, it looks good.  You need to svn up as otherwise your a 
couple revisions down, and I couldn't use a fuzz factor to get the diff 
in the file, as it rejected the patch. No big deal, as the content is 
what is important.
