I wasn't referring to bugs, but the use of "rws" vs. "rwd". "rwd" by
definition does not sync meta data (without defining what metadata is)
and thus on some platforms may cause recoverability problems.

I agree, and unfortunately it will always be a combination of the two,
because bugs will be found in JVM's that affect existing Derby releases.


And no, the committers do not have commit access yet. Ken Coar sent an
e-mail a few days ago explaing the ASF secetary is on vacation.
