Dear Wiki user,

You have subscribed to a wiki page or wiki category on "Db-derby Wiki" for change notification.

New page:
## Added 2006-11-08

== What does ''Certified JVM'' mean in the Derby System Requirements statement? ==

Variations of the following Derby System Requirements statement can be found in the Derby
documentation and website but the term ''Certified JVM'' is not defined:

{{{
Derby is a database engine written completely in Java; it will run in any certified Java Virtual
Machine (JVM).
}}}

I interpret ''Certified JVM'' as meaning a JVM that passed the TCKs for the platform and so
can use a coffee cup logo.

Note that Derby may run fine on JVMs that have not run platform TCKs and/or do not display
the coffee cup logo.
