Subject [jira] [Commented] (CXF-5672) Update to Jetty 9
Date Sat, 05 Apr 2014 01:50:14 GMT

Gary Gregory commented on CXF-5672:

We do use Jetty as an embedded servlet container. Unfortunately, our Servlets extend Jetty's
WebSocketServlet, which has been repackaged between Java 8 and 9. So I cannot drop in Jetty
9 instead of 8 to test this out. I did change enough of our config files to get Jetty up and
going, our serlvets don't load. I'll have to reevaluate whether it's worth doing the work
just to test with Jetty 9...

FWIW, we have just switched out trunk code to Java 7 from 6, we are still supporting Java
6 on our older branches of our app server. So moving to Java 7 is fine by me anytime ;)

> We embed CXF and we also embed Jetty which we pick up through CXF, for which I need a
fix that was put in Jetty 9.1.1:
> Can CXF update Jetty to at least 9.1.1? The current version is 9.1.13 or 9.1.14 depending
on where you look.
> I imagine this could be too big a change for 2.7.x but what about for 3.0?
