Actually, see what you mean re setting the properties, it is awkward, I did it that way to
avoid dealing with Map marshalling issues, but I think for 3.0.0 I will just put Map there
instead and add an adapter.

FYI, your patch has been applied, thanks. I've only replaced 'Long' with 'String', I can imagine
an internal id containing all sort of characters...
