Hi Richard,
First, you shouldn't need to extend Service. Second, we probably haven't 
supported that use case yet. Just to make sure I understand, are you 
just trying to override the url used to access your server from your 
client? I will be poking around this code later today. If I find a way 
I'll let you know. Otherwise I'll make one :-)
