Subject [jira] [Created] (CURATOR-531) Documentation for Discovery Service Cache is Misleading
Date Tue, 16 Jul 2019 14:47:00 GMT
Jordan Zimmerman created CURATOR-531:
----------------------------------------

             Summary: Documentation for Discovery Service Cache is Misleading
                 Key: CURATOR-531
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CURATOR-531
             Project: Apache Curator
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Documentation
    Affects Versions: 4.2.0
            Reporter: Jordan Zimmerman

The doc here - http://curator.apache.org/curator-x-discovery/index.html - discusses {{Service
Cache}} and states "If you need more than occasional querying of services you can use the
ServiceCache". The problem with this documentation is that it's misleading. {{ServiceProvider}}
internally creates a cache. The documentation should explicitly state that if you use {{ServiceProvider}}
you don't need to do manual caching.
