Subject [jira] [Updated] (CRUNCH-193) GenericArrayWritable doesn't handle nulls on read

Matthias Friedrich updated CRUNCH-193:
--------------------------------------

    Attachment: CRUNCH-193-Fix-GenericArrayWritable.patch

I discovered this when cleaning up CogroupIT - there must be some nulls in collections behind
the scenes.

Here's my first stab at fixing this. The serialization format is fairly inefficient, a more
sophisticated implementation would only need one bit per element to keep track of nulls. I
think there is a separate ticket for making Writables more efficient.
