Subject Replication in admin party mode failure
Date Tue, 09 Apr 2013 17:57:37 GMT

I am trying to test replication in admin party mode with couchdb 1.2.1 and
it is failing with:

[error] [<0.106.0>] Error in replication
`7ad9a2be4552a2c2dea7dd23b72c3407+create_target` (triggered by document
`myrepl`): {unauthorized,<<"unauthorized to access or create database

I am using the new replication API (documented here:, the replication document source

   "_id": "myrepl",
   "_rev": "2-93106c81a37128d7f04509cbe204769b",
   "source": "http://localhost:5984/abc",
   "target": "bar",
   "create_target": true,
   "continuous": false,
   "owner": null,
   "_replication_state": "error",
   "_replication_state_time": "2013-04-09T19:42:17+02:00",
   "_replication_id": "7ad9a2be4552a2c2dea7dd23b72c3407"

The request document is:

  "_id": "myrepl",
  "source": "http://localhost:5984/abc",
  "target": "bar",
  "create_target": true,
  "continuous": false

I am guessing that this is due to owner being null, but would expect
that the database is created in admin party mode.

Any pointers on what I am doing wrong or whether this should be
considered a bug?
