Great, what happens when you do:

	couchdb -b

Is CouchDB running?

What happens when you do this next:

	couchdb -d

Has CouchDB stopped?

If it hasn't stopped for this last thing, can you do the same hashbang  
change for:

	/usr/bin/couchdb

Or whatever it is called on your system.
