Subject Setting PID file path in 0.9.1
Date Fri, 07 Aug 2009 21:07:59 GMT
Ohai,

Did the config change in 0.9.1, for where I need to set the path to
CouchDB's PID file?

In my old CouchDB 0.9 server build script, I was using this:

touch /usr/local/var/run/couchdb.pid
chown couchdb:couchdb /usr/local/var/run/couchdb.pid
mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/default

cat >/usr/local/etc/default/couchdb <<-EOF
export COUCHDB_USER=couchdb
export COUCHDB_PID_FILE=/usr/local/var/run/couchdb.pid
export COUCHDB_STDOUT_FILE=/usr/local/var/log/couchdb/couchdb.stdout
export COUCHDB_STDERR_FILE=/usr/local/var/log/couchdb/couchdb.stderr
EOF

However after successfully starting CouchDB, I don't see anything in that file.

Cheers,

Zach

PS. I'm on Ubuntu 8.10...
