I didn't see any of those issues when I ran it in dev mode (`grunt dev`). Also `grunt couchdb` copies all the contents of `dist/release` to `share/couchdb/www/fauxton` So you shouldn't have to do that manually. Lets get all the functionality working via `grunt dev`.
