Subject [jira] [Created] (COUCHDB-1885) `couchdb -d/-k` don't log helpful messages
Date Fri, 06 Sep 2013 21:05:51 GMT
Nathan Vander Wilt created COUCHDB-1885:
-------------------------------------------

             Summary: `couchdb -d/-k` don't log helpful messages
                 Key: COUCHDB-1885
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-1885
             Project: CouchDB
          Issue Type: Bug
            Reporter: Nathan Vander Wilt

For some reason when shutting down CouchDB I don't end up seeing most of the diagnostic messages
except the "has been killed|shutdown".

There *is* some unreachable code in that would never be able to log the "Stale PID file" stuff
anymore because both the branches above it return early: https://github.com/apache/couchdb/blob/master/bin/couchdb.tpl.in#L315
Not sure why I don't see "Could not be killed" instead, though.
