Subject [jira] [Commented] (COUCHDB-906) Please offer offline downloadable documentation
Date Mon, 26 Aug 2013 19:23:52 GMT

Chris Wilson commented on COUCHDB-906:

Hi all,

I don't want to divert a lot of effort into creating downloadable docs, if that's what it
would take.

The downloadable RTD docs were either not available when I made this request, or so hard to
find that I didn't find them despite hours of searching. That's all I want: to know that when
I start using a new and complex piece of software, that I actually find and download the downloadable
reference materials. Links to RTD are absolutely fine for me, *as long as* they're easy to

My PR doesn't add any words to the front page (in fact it reduces them from 24 to 20) but
at the same time makes the words much more usable, and makes it extremely clear where to find
the docs that are already offered by RTD. This is a simple and powerful solution for me, and
all that I ask.

Cheers, Chris.

be enabled but broken in the CouchDB wiki.

tarball of the html versions of the pages?
