Subject [jira] [Updated] (COUCHDB-1658) Redirect to online docs if local aren't available
Date Wed, 30 Jan 2013 10:03:12 GMT

Alexander Shorin updated COUCHDB-1658:

    Attachment: COUCHDB-1658.1.patch

Patch attached. The idea is based on the fact that /usr/share/couchdb/www/docs directory is
missed if sphinx-build is not available. So we're able to place dummy index.html there that
redirects to online version. Otherwise, sphinx files will just replace him.

> Probably, it's better to redirect user to online docs (e.g.{version}/
) instead of showing "Not found." message if CouchDB was built without local docs support.
Since {version} might not be equal to the branch name, may be take major and minor numbers
with 'x' joined by dot '.' or set it as 'latest' if 'git' substring was found in version.
