Subject [jira] Created: (COUCHDB-961) "curl_config --libs" output is ignored

"curl_config --libs" output is ignored
--------------------------------------

                 Key: COUCHDB-961
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/COUCHDB-961
             Project: CouchDB
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Build System
    Affects Versions: 1.0.1
Environment: Unix (tested on CentOS 5.5, but applies to anyone who wants to use a
non-default Curl library)
            Reporter: Pasi Eronen
            Priority: Minor

"configure" runs "curl-config --libs" to find out where the Curl libraries are (and sets CURL_LIBS).
It's possible to use a custom Curl installation by setting CURL_CONFIG environment variable.

However, the actual compilation (in src/couchdb/priv/Makefile.am) uses CURL_LDFLAGS,
which configure.ac sets to plain "-lcurl" (which uses the default Curl installation, if such
exists,
and not the one checked in m4/ac_check_curl.m4).

Probably configure.ac should set CURL_LDFLAGS to $(CURL_LIBS) instead...
