Subject [jira] Closed: (COUCHDB-854) Can 'make install' clean target directory prior to installation?
Date Thu, 12 Aug 2010 17:28:18 GMT

Noah Slater closed COUCHDB-854.

    Resolution: Won't Fix

The installation process is a write-only operation. I will veto any patch which removes things
from the DEST_DIR. I would suggest that some form of versioning be used in the directories,
so that multiple installs can co-exist next to each other. If someone thinks that is possible,
please create a new ticket outlining how the directories need to be structured.

> Multiple versions of mochiweb in the erlang/lib directory can/will cause the http stack
to malfunction. Can the 'make install' process clean the erlang/lib directory prior to installing
a new build?
