Sebastian Cohnen commented on COUCHDB-801:
------------------------------------------

I was talking about the Spidermonkeys JavaScript shell (see [1]). CLI is just short for command-line
interface btw :) I'm pretty sure, that the JavaScript shell is available for windows as well.
I think introducing smth. like "forerereduce=true' is a very poor substitute for unit-testing
map/reduce funs. And I think it's the only really "useful" use case I can think of at the
moment.

> AFAIK there is no way to force a Map Reduce with rereduce=true to happen, other than
creating an arbitrary large number of documents. So any bugs in handling reduce calls with
rereduce=true might not be discovered at development time.
> I propose something like a 'ForceReReduce=true' option which will call Reduce with rereduce=true
(either once overall, or maybe once for each document) in order to shake any lurking bugs
out of the tree.
> If there *is* such a feature, I apologise; I've looked but can't find it.
