Subject [jira] Commented: (COUCHDB-606) specifying a [Update_Notification] block in local.ini causes crashes (looping)

Robert Newson commented on COUCHDB-606:
---------------------------------------

An update_notification process is supposed to loop while reading stdin (that is, not exit).
I'm guessing that your function exits immediately, which couchdb reports as a crash, then
relaunches your process, which exists (crashes), ad infinitum.

I think there was a patch to behave better if a script exists with a return code of 0 (to
allow the script to be upgraded, say), but I don't think it's a bug that a broken update_notification
script causes crash reports.

> When the [Update_Notification] block in the INI file is commeted out, everything works.
> As soon as something is specified. e.g. db_update=/usr/local/etc/couchdb/dummy couchdb
spits out hundreds of crash dumps:
