Subject [jira] Commented: (COUCHDB-248) The log process should use SASL for logging
Date Mon, 02 Nov 2009 21:10:59 GMT

Paul Joseph Davis commented on COUCHDB-248:

This is most odd. We go through SASL callbacks and end up with io:format calls? Is this how
normal Erlang logging is done? The original part of that ticket was a general "use erlang's
builtin logging instead of a roll our own" approach. I didn't realize we even touched sasl
as it currently is.

> As it stands the log process is ad-hoc since it was written from scratch. Making it a
wrapper around SASL ( would be a good improvement.
