Paul Joseph Davis resolved COUCHDB-504.

       Resolution: Fixed
    Fix Version/s: 0.11

Fixed as of r816033.

Someone tell me whether I should backport. I want to say yes but I also want someone else
to share the blame if it hits the fan.
